If you are a big fan of football and enjoy watching games in person, then securing a season ticket for your favourite team is probably pretty high on your bucket list!
However, if you are following a Premier League team, this is easier said than done, with most having a waiting list. One thing to also be aware of is that a season ticket only covers entrance to home games. However, it does represent a saving over purchasing the tickets individually.
The Application Process
For Premier League teams and many of the bigger, more popular clubs, you will need to submit an application to join the waiting list. Unfortunately, there are no records as to how many people are on the list, but for example, the waiting time for Arsenal is said to be between five and 10 years!
When the new season tickets go on sale, they are offered to existing holders first, which means they may all be sold pretty quickly.
There are other options but you do need to take care when buying from ticket agencies or reseller sites to ensure they are genuine, especially online auction sites or local marketplaces on popular social media platforms.
Pay for Individual Games
If you are unable to secure a season ticket, then you can consider simply paying for individual games. And, of course, you would need to pay for away games anyway, even with a season ticket. Each team has its own calendar with different release dates, so you need to check their individual websites. There may also be terms and conditions, for example, at Manchester United, you need to join their official membership program first.
Why not support your local area’s smaller teams instead and be assured of seeing an entertaining live game without the struggle to get a ticket?
