Contested between the Northern Hemisphere’s six best teams, the Six Nations is one of international rugby’s most prestigious tournaments.
Occurring in February and March of each year, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and Italy, go head to head to be crowned champions. If you want to be there in 2019, simply follow our advice:
Check the Fixture List
Each year, three teams play three home games, and the other three play at their chosen venue twice. This is then reversed for the following year.
If you want to watch England at Twickenham in 2019, therefore, you would have three opportunities to do so: versus France on 10th February, versus Italy on 9th March and versus Scotland on 16th March.
However, if you wanted to take in a Six Nations match in 2020, only two contests would be played at Twickenham.
The official Six Nations website is the place to view the full list of 2019 fixtures.
Getting Tickets
Although you can view the fixtures for the Six Nations on the competition’s official website, you need to purchase tickets for the individual matches from the relevant rugby union.
If you wanted to go to the England v Scotland game at Twickenham on 16th March, for example, you would purchase tickets from the RFU, unless you live in Scotland, where you could also buy a ticket from the Scottish Rugby Online Ticket Centre. Only buy tickets from providers you trust.
Planning Your Travel
Once you have your ticket for the match, you can start planning how to get there! England, Scotland and Wales home games take place on the British mainland, so should be simple enough to get to, but you may have to book flights or alternative forms of transport to reach Dublin, Paris and Rome.
Whatever fixture you have your heart set on watching, enjoy the match!
