If you are captivated by the magical world of Harry Potter, then a visit to the Warner Bros studio should be on your bucket list.

The majority of the films were shot there, and it’s easy to get to, just 20 miles outside London. The studio is open year-round, with the school holiday period being the busiest time.

You need to book your tickets in advance for a specific timed entry and be there 20 minutes early for security checks.

What to See and Do

The tour is self-guided, other than a short introduction at the start, and expect to spend between three and four hours in the studio. Your first experience begins in The Great Hall before you are free to wander around on your own.

There are lots of interactive things to do which will delight children in particular. You can practice waving a wand and explore the Forbidden Forest.

Don’t forget the iconic photo opportunity on Platform 9 3/4!

Food & Gifts

Halfway through the tour, you can stop for food and drink at the Backlot Café, where you can sample Butterbeer! Don’t worry; it’s non-alcoholic, so all the family can enjoy it!

Fully refreshed, you can head to Privet Drive and see Harry’s house and several other props such as the Knight Bus. Moving back indoors, you can stroll down Diagon Alley before reaching Hogwarts itself, the high point of the tour.

And finally, there is a massive gift shop for all your Harry Potter souvenirs.

Taking a Harry Potter Studio tour is a fun activity to have on your bucket list and will offer lasting memories for all the family. Feel free to dress up in character if you wish, you won’t be alone, and it all adds to the magical experience!
