The start of a new year is a momentous occasion, a time to reflect on the past and set goals and resolutions.
Many people choose to lose weight or take on a fitness regime, which could be one of their bucket list plans. It is best to start with a specific challenge, as this will keep you motivated and remove any indecision and hesitation. 30 days seems reasonable, and not too overwhelming, but where to start?
Set Milestones
To encourage you to complete the 30 days, you should set small milestones along the way, that give you a sense of achievement. Perhaps you wish to undertake the 1000 minutes of exercise challenge, which can be very satisfying as you watch the numbers fall each day.
Or maybe running appeals to you, to push yourself a little further each week.
If you don’t have a lot of time to spare, then the 30 minutes for 30 days workout routine could be for you.
Accountability
If you find yourself lacking the discipline to complete a challenge, then having an accountability partner could be the answer. If you know that somebody is relying on you to join them at the gym, or on a run, you are less likely to make excuses not to go.
You could also join classes, a great way to enjoy like-minded company and make some new friends. A fitness challenge need not be strenuous, yoga and pilates will build up your core strength and lead to an overall feeling of well-being.
Having achieved your goal, you may wish to continue reaping the rewards of exercise. There is nothing to stop you from going beyond the initial 30 days. Start the new year by completing this bucket list task, and enjoy a new healthier lifestyle!
